Racing Incident Report

HORACE'S HORSE left the gates very awkwardly. DASH FOR VICTORIES was slowly away. In the middle stages, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and THE GRAND ROOF came together several times as FOR YOUR EYES ONLY endeavoured to shift out. About the 500 Metres, THE GRAND ROOF was awkward behind HYDROGEN POWER which was giving ground. After the 400 Metres, DASH FOR VICTORIES, which was racing greenly, was steadied when awkward between INSIGHTOREALITY and MONEY. About the 200 Metres, HORACE'S HORSE shifted out, causing some inconvenience to THE GRAND ROOF. The Stewards allowed Mr C H Yip, trainer of MONEY, an opportunity of explaining what on the face of it was a significant improvement by the horse this evening. Mr Yip said the first run MONEY had for him was over 1650 Metres at Happy Valley, the horse was drawn wide and he thought the run was quite good. After that MONEY had run on a rain affected track at Sha Tin which in his opinion the horse did not handle. Following that MONEY ran in the 1200 Metre race on the All Weather Track, drawn from the extreme outside, was obliged to race wide throughout and weakened. Mr Yip said he had studied numerous video films of MONEY, this convinced him the horse races well at Happy Valley and he had noted in the past the horse seemed to race well when ridden by S K Sit, because of this he sought the services of Jockey Sit this evening. He did say he had instructed S K Sit from an outside gate to steady the horse in the early stages, travelled at the rear and endeavoured to save ground. Mr Yip was adamant the horse's condition had remained fairly consistent this season and whilst he expected an improved run tonight, the manner in which the horse was able to win the race did somewhat surprise him. The explanations submitted by Mr Yip were accepted. JOYOUS CHEERS, MONEY and EASY STAR were sent for sampling.
