Racing Incident Report

FELICITY left the gates awkwardly, throwing its head about, and just after the start was crowded between GLOBAL RUNNER and BUENO BUENO, both of which shifted some ground. MALAYAN GEM left the gates very awkwardly with its head up and shifted out abruptly across the heels of AUTHORISED. In the early stages, AUTHORISED, which was racing wide and without cover, pulled and proved very difficult to settle. Also in the early stages, BUENO BUENO was inclined to pull. About the 800 Metres, GLOBAL RUNNER was steadied when awkward just inside the heels of FELICITY. In the run to the line, when being ridden out hard ALBELA shifted out. D Whyte said over the concluding stages SUGAR AND SPICE was not stretching out as he thought it should. He therefore did not ride the horse to the finish as hard as he usually would. After the race, SUGAR AND SPICE was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who was unable to detect any abnormalities. Before being allowed to race again, SUGAR AND SPICE will be required to pass an official veterinary examination. BUENO BUENO was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
