Racing Incident Report
On jumping, general crowding occurred. This took place mainly because of SNIPPEDYDOODA shifting in on leaving the gates and STARWAY PATROL shifting out. The main sufferers in the crowding were GRAND DELIGHT, SUN SHINE RIVER and CLEMENT SUPREME. A Marcus (STARWAY PATROL) said at no stage of the race did the horse handle today's track conditions and in the Straight dropped out. S Dye (GRAND DELIGHT) said he was having a lot of difficulty with his visibility throughout the race. In the early part of the Straight when he endeavoured to put GRAND DELIGHT under full pressure, the horse became unbalanced and blundered and then on each occasion before the 200 Metres when he attempted to ride the horse out, it became unbalanced and dipped. He did say however over about the last 100 Metres the horse did make some ground, but because of the circumstances he was not able to ride GRAND DELIGHT out in his normal fashion. GRAND DELIGHT was sent for clinical veterinary examination and testing.
