Racing Incident Report

INDIGENOUS missed the start slightly and was then checked when crowded between GOGGLES which shifted out and BILLION WIN which shifted in. Near the 1400 Metres, SUPER MOLLY got its head up when racing close to the heels of MONARDS and tight inside SHAXI FORTUNE. After the 200 Metres, GRAND DELIGHT shifted in away from SUPER MOLLY and bumped DR MORE. When questioned, M Cahill (DR MORE) said he had been instructed to ride the horse somewhere about midfield or worse if possible, endeavour to find cover and try and have the horse settled. He said from a difficult gate he was caught wide in the early stages and endeavoured to find a position behind SHAXI FORTUNE, but when that horse steadied, he was unable to do so and was obliged to race wide without any cover. DR MORE was proving very difficult for him to settle and he felt in all the circumstances he had little alternative but to allow the horse to go forward and race outside RED SUN. He went on to say had DR MORE drawn differently, the horse would have been ridden much further back. He said after the 200 Metres he had the whip knocked from his hand by the whip of S Dye (GRAND DELIGHT), but in all the circumstances this was of no significance. The explanations submitted were accepted. GRAND DELIGHT, SUPER MOLLY and MERIDIAN STAR were sent for sampling.
