Racing Incident Report

BACCURA bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. In the early stages, HALO KING PRAWN proved difficult to settle and approaching the 800 Metres was allowed to stride forward to get in and race outside the leader. Approaching the 800 Metres, PERPETUAL PLEASURE was hard ridden to improve inside the heels of SIXTY SECONDS where there was barely sufficient room. This resulted in BACCURA and PERPETUAL PLEASURE being crowded for room. When SIXTY SECONDS shifted out to relieve this crowding, inconvenience was caused to CLASSA WIN which was following and proving difficult to settle. H K Yim (PERPETUAL PLEASURE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that at about the 200 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in whilst riding along when not clear of FAVOURITE EXPRESS, causing that horse to be carried in across the running of FELICITY which as a result was checked. H K Yim was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Tuesday 4 February 2003 on which day he may resume race riding (4 Hong Kong race days). The commencement of this suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley meeting next Wednesday 15 January 2003. A request from H K Yim that he be allowed to commence this suspension immediately was not acceded to. TOM'S FIRST and MARK OF EXCELLENCE were sent for sampling.
