Racing Incident Report

DRAGON HORSE began very awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and because of this its rider, H K Yim, became unbalanced. FORTE bounded in the air at the start, shortly afterwards was steadied when crowded for room between CELESTIAL MAGIC and FLYING MACHINE which was taken out slightly by BOLD FIGHTER which began awkwardly. DEVON ELITE began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages, CELESTIAL MAGIC hung out. Also over the concluding stages, JOY FAY FAY was inclined to shift to the outside running rail. This caused some inconvenience to DRAGON HORSE which as a result was not ridden out as it normally would be. S Dye (FORTE) said the horse as it has been in its recent race starts and trials played up after entering the gates and consequently did not begin well. He said near the 200 Metres he shifted to the inside of FLASHING STAR to obtain clear running on the outside of CELESTIAL MAGIC, a horse which has a history of hanging out under pressure, he therefore elected to immediately steady and shift further to the inside of CELESTIAL MAGIC to ensure he had clear running in the run to the line. CELESTIAL MAGIC and FLASHING STAR were sent for sampling. After the race, FLYING MACHINE was noted to have sustained a laceration to the tongue. Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported AMAZING VICTORY was making an abnormal breathing noise.
