Racing Incident Report

JOY FAY FAY began awkwardly, hit the inside of its barrier and as a result O Doleuze, its rider, became badly unbalanced. On jumping, LUCKY LAD and FORTE bumped. SUPER BROSE began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its barrier. WYNDAM EASY was slow to begin. GOT IT GOOD was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was steadied when crowded for room between AMBITIOUS LEADER and KEV BUSHIDO which got its head on the side and shifted out. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, FORTE and GOT IT GOOD hung out badly. After the 200 Metres, FORTE was shifted to the inside of PAOBRIDGE to continue going forward. In the Straight, JOY FAY FAY hung in and proved difficult to ride. B Prebble (PAOBRIDGE) explained he had been instructed to ride the horse in a forward position, however, he was to allow it a breather in the middle stages if possible. He said PAOBRIDGE began well, immediately mustered speed and crossed to join RUN AND WIN in the lead. He said PAOBRIDGE did not appear comfortable in tonight's going and because of this he considered it was in the best interests of the horse to ensure it was properly balanced. He said when placed under pressure after straightening, PAOBRIDGE did not respond to his riding. After the race, it was noted PAOBRIDGE was making an abnormal breathing noise. SUPER BROSE and JOY FAY FAY were sent for sampling.
