Racing Incident Report

NOBLE CHAMPION began very badly, threw its head up and struck Y T Cheng, its rider, in the face. As a consequence of this, NOBLE CHAMPION got well back. Then near the 200 Metres, NOBLE CHAMPION, which was commencing to close the race off strongly, was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of NATIVE LANGUAGE, over the concluding stages was again held up for running and was not ridden out to the line. ROMANTIC SYMPHONY was slow to begin and then was checked to avoid the heels of GALLANT HORSE which shifted out abruptly. At the start, OPERATION HUMOUR was crowded for room between CORAJOSO and SEASONS TREASURE, both of which shifted ground. In the early stages, GALLANT HORSE proved very difficult to settle and on a number of occasions got its head up when close to the heels of AURELIAN. At the 800 Metres, GALLANT HORSE was bumped by OPERA MAGIC which shifted out momentarily when awkwardly placed close to the heels of STRATEGUS. At the 500 Metres, SEASONS TREASURE was steadied when crowded for room between ROYAL ARMY and NEW FACE which shifted out slightly. After the 400 Metres, GALLANT HORSE, which was giving ground, was inclined to shift in and bumped with OPERA MAGIC which was shifting to the outside of AURELIAN to obtain clear running. Shortly after this, OPERA MAGIC again shifted out slightly. This caused GALLANT HORSE to be taken out, resulting in NEW FACE being inconvenienced. At the 300 Metres, SEASONS TREASURE was steadied away from the heels of HALO KING PRAWN. Over the concluding stages, NEW FACE was not able to obtain clear running and consequently was not ridden out to the line. Also over the concluding stages, NATIVE LANGUAGE was unable to improve between STRATEGUS and AURELIAN. R Fradd (SEASONS TREASURE) explained over about the final 200 Metres he was awkwardly placed on the outside of HALO KING PRAWN and inside the heels of ROMANTIC SYMPHONY. He said he felt HALO KING PRAWN was gradually drifting out and he was concerned if he persevered into this run, he would end up being taken onto the heels of ROMANTIC SYMPHONY, therefore he did not ride his mount out as he normally would. OPERA MAGIC, ROYAL ARMY and CORAJOSO were sent for sampling.
