Racing Incident Report

When the gates opened, DASH AHEAD bounded in the air and lost ground. KIDDY SING began awkwardly, bumped the outside gate of its stall and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of EQUATOR KID which shifted in. On jumping, HAPPY PARTNERS blundered. UNIVERSAL CHARGER, which was standing with its head turned to the left, was slow to begin. Making the turn after the 1600 Metres, FLORAL DYNAMITE hung out, then prior to the 1400 Metres got its head up and shifted out abruptly. In the middle stages, LUCKY HANDS proved difficult to settle, near the 1200 Metres was steadied away from the heels of KA KA WIN. KIDDY SING, which was following, was inconvenienced as a consequence and shifted wider. On two occasions after the 700 Metres, KIDDY SING was bumped and carried wider by LUCKY HANDS (B Prebble) which at this time shifted from behind KA KA WIN towards the outside of EQUATOR KID. Near the 600 Metres, LUCKY HANDS then became unbalanced when close to the heels of EQUATOR KID after being held into a position behind that horse by KIDDY SING. B Prebble was severely reprimanded and told whilst the Stewards appreciate competitive riding, there is a limit to how far one can go and on this occasion his riding had come close to placing him in breach of a serious rule. Prior to straightening, B Prebble dropped his left rein. Near the 300 Metres, SUPER BLITZ was bumped by AMBITIOUS TYCOON which at this time was carried out slightly by FLORAL DYNAMITE which was giving ground. Shortly after this, AMBITIOUS TYCOON was brushed and carried in by SUPER BLITZ. After the 200 Metres, DASH AHEAD was steadied when disappointed for running between KA KA WIN and PERFETTO. For some distance after this, DASH AHEAD was held up and unable to improve when racing close to the heels of PERFETTO. FLORAL DYNAMITE was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of FLORAL DYNAMITE after the race did not show any significant findings. AMBITIOUS TYCOON, DYNAMIC FUN and SUPER BLITZ were sent for sampling.
