Racing Incident Report

After arriving on course, it was noted AUSPICIOUS ODYSSEY had shifted its right hind plate. The horse was re-plated and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was suitable to race. GREAT IDEA began very awkwardly and bumped the inside gate of its stall, causing R Fradd to lose the use of his right stirrup. R Fradd regained his stirrup about 50 Metres after the start, then for the major part of the Straight GREAT IDEA hung out. AUSPICIOUS ODYSSEY began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped PRECIOUS MOMENTS. CHOICE AND CHANCE began awkwardly. On jumping, PRESENT TREASURE was bumped by MELOS which shifted in. Then shortly afterwards PRESENT TREASURE became badly unbalanced after again being bumped by MELOS which on this occasion got its head on the side and shifted in away from BRILLIANT ATTORNEY. After the 900 Metres, MASCOT got its head on the side, shifted in away from MELOS and bumped CHOICE AND CHANCE. Near the 800 Metres, SENSIBLE ADVICE became unbalanced and lost ground. At the 800 Metres, AUSPICIOUS ODYSSEY was bumped by PRECIOUS MOMENTS which shifted in. Near the 600 Metres, CHOICE AND CHANCE became unbalanced, shifted in and bumped the running rail when being steadied away from the heels of BRILLIANT ATTORNEY. After the 400 Metres, MELOS became badly unbalanced after making contact with FANTASTICO. At the 100 Metres, SENSIBLE ADVICE was steadied when crowded for room by PRESENT TREASURE (D Boeuf) which shifted in. D Boeuf was severely reprimanded and told to exercise more care. PRECIOUS MOMENTS was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of PRECIOUS MOMENTS after the race did not show any significant findings. GREAT IDEA and MASCOT were sent for sampling. After the race, it was noted PRESENT TREASURE had lost its left front plate.
