Racing Incident Report
WIKI WIKI was withdrawn on 11.6.04 on veterinary grounds (lame left hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MODERN PROSPECT. Before being allowed to race again, WIKI WIKI will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When being weighed prior to the race, NEVER HEADED became fractious. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it had sustained minor abrasions to its right hind pastern and in his opinion was suitable to race. PRETTY TRIO began awkwardly. FAT CHANCE was slow to begin. SPLIT SECONDS was a little slow to begin. From a gate towards the outside, GOOD TRIO was momentarily steadied and shifted across behind runners to a position closer to the rail but at the rear. For a considerable distance after the 600 Metres, VICTORY MARBLE was continually checked to avoid the heels of DON FELIPE which was giving ground. When VICTORY MARBLE checked, it endeavoured to shift to the outside of DON FELIPE. This caused some inconvenience to MASTER GIGOLO. As a consequence of this incident, VICTORY MARBLE lost a significant amount of ground. For some distance after straightening, NEVER HEADED was steadied when unable to obtain clear running inside DON FELIPE which continued to give ground. For the major part of the race, MODERN PROSPECT raced wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. MODERN PROSPECT was sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of MODERN PROSPECT after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER WONGCHOY, PRETTY TRIO and SPLIT SECONDS were sent for sampling.
