Racing Incident Report

Before being presented in the Parade Ring, MASTER YING had an adjustment made to its right fore plate. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Officer and considered suitable to race. SMART CHAMPION, which was standing badly, began awkwardly. THOUSAND WINS and FRUITY FRUITY were slow to begin. SHINING DRAGON began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped DOUBLE HAPPINESS. LUCKY STALLION began awkwardly. Near the 1300 Metres, BUDDIES POWER was crowded for room inside MASTER YING which shifted in slightly. In the early stages, SMART CHAMPION proved very difficult to settle. After the 1200 Metres, THOUSAND WINS got its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of PROGRESSING TIMES. From the outside gate, LUCKY LAD raced wide and without cover. Making the Home Turn, LUCKY LAD was bumped and carried wider by PROGRESSING TIMES which was endeavouring to shift to the outside of LUCKY STALLION to obtain clear running. At this time, LUCKY STALLION had its head on the side and hung out. At the 300 Metres, DOUBLE HAPPINESS, which was beginning to close the race off and making ground quickly, was checked when disappointed for running between FRUITY FRUITY and SHINING DRAGON (W Woods) which was shifting to the outside of MASTER YING into clear running. At this time, MASTER YING itself shifted out slightly. In the circumstances of this case and considering that W Woods commenced to shift ground when clear of DOUBLE HAPPINESS (G Mossé), the Stewards believed it appropriate to severely reprimand him. G Mossé was told the evidence tendered by him in the initial stages of the inquiry was of concern to the Stewards and in future he would at all times be expected to tender forthright evidence. After the 200 Metres, SMART CHAMPION, which was giving ground, became unbalanced when close to the heels of LUCKY STALLION. For the major part of the race, DON FELIPE hung out. FRUITY FRUITY was sent for a clinical veterinary examination and sampling. THOUSAND WINS and SUPER FANTASY were sent for a clinical veterinary examination. A veterinary examination of FRUITY FRUITY, THOUSAND WINS and SUPER FANTASY after the race did not show any significant findings. SOLAR EMPIRE and REAL PARTNER were sent for sampling.
