Racing Incident Report

SUPER LUCK was withdrawn on 1.3.05 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter KE JIA WANG (Apprentice H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, SUPER LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being boxed, TREASURE RAIDERS became fractious and sat down behind. TREASURE RAIDERS was removed from its stall and examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said after the necessary consultations the horse was suitable to race. BEST CHOICE was slow to begin. CONSTELLATION began awkwardly and then bumped with MILLION CHASE. After this, CONSTELLATION raced greenly, near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of TREASURE RAIDERS and then making the turn at the 600 Metres hung out. In the early stages, KE JIA WANG got its head on the side and hung in away from MASTER YING. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, MILLION CHASE was crowded for room inside GOLDEN STRIDE which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TREASURE RAIDERS which itself was shifting in. TREASURE RAIDERS made the turn after the 1000 Metres awkwardly and shifted out. After the 600 Metres, MILLION CHASE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GOLDEN STRIDE which itself was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of TREASURE RAIDERS. Shortly after straightening, MILLION CHASE was steadied when disappointed for running between GOLDEN STRIDE and TREASURE RAIDERS which was giving ground. After straightening, CHOSEN ONE was steadied and shifted to the outside of NICKU NICKU into clear running. After the 200 Metres, MILLION CHASE was steadied and shifted towards the outside of GOLDEN STRIDE, then over the concluding stages was not ridden out when racing tight inside CONSTELLATION and close to the heels of GOLDEN STRIDE. Over the concluding stages, W M Lai (MASTER YING) was unable to use his whip due to MASTER YING and SALUT BEAUTE racing tight. In the Straight, KE JIA WANG hung in and proved difficult to ride. From the outside gate, MALAYAN TREASURE raced wide and without cover throughout. KE JIA WANG, SALUT BEAUTE and MASTER YING were sent for sampling.
