Racing Incident Report

After arriving at the saddling stalls, it was noted STORMY had shifted its right hind plate. This plate was reset. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon who said it was suitable to race. FORTUNE LAD and PURPLE GOLD were slow to begin. On jumping, FUN CRUISER shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of DANEFACTOR. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, STORMY shifted out after getting its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BAYVIEW LAD. Some distance afterwards, STORMY continued to race ungenerously with its head up and shifted further out across the running of LA MERVEILLE which as a result was checked. No action was taken. STORMY then continued to prove difficult to settle in the middle stages. After the 200 Metres, FUN CRUISER was checked when disappointed for running between BAYVIEW LAD which shifted out slightly and KID GALAXY (B Prebble) which when hanging badly shifted in. No action was taken, however, B Prebble was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and endeavour to straighten his mount sooner than he did on this occasion. Over the concluding stages, BAYVIEW LAD and KID GALAXY raced tight as a result of BAYVIEW LAD initially shifting out and then KID GALAXY continuing to hang in. For the majority of the race, AMBITIOUS LEADER raced wide and without cover. AMBITIOUS LEADER was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of AMBITIOUS LEADER after the race did not show any significant findings. DANEFACTOR and KID GALAXY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported BAYVIEW LAD had lost its right front plate.
