Racing Incident Report

CHERISHED began awkwardly. GREENESSY was a little slow to begin and shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of THOUSAND WINS which shifted in. For some distance after the 1400 Metres, SPINNING CITY got its head up and raced ungenerously when being steadied away from the heels of THE ONLY ONE which steadied in front. Near the 1300 Metres, SPINNING CITY shifted out and caused crowding on its outside to NILOMETER and LUCKY CHAMPION. Near the 200 Metres, NILOMETER, which for some distance had been held up for clear running, was checked when disappointed for running between PEARL OF INDIA and THOUSAND WINS which shifted out slightly when giving ground. No action was taken. PEARL OF INDIA was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of PEARL OF INDIA after the race did not show any significant findings. D Whyte (REAL PARTNER) said the horse was not suited by the manner in which the race was run. He said REAL PARTNER travelled comfortably until the 500 Metres, however, at that point the tempo quickened and REAL PARTNER was left somewhat flat-footed. He said he did ride REAL PARTNER along, the horse gradually mustered speed and did close the race off fairly, however, after being left flat-footed was left with too much ground to make up. REAL PARTNER was sent for an official veterinary examination and sampling. A veterinary inspection of REAL PARTNER after the race did not show any significant findings. MILITARY OPTION, LUCKY CHAMPION and SPINNING CITY were sent for sampling.
