Racing Incident Report

SEVENS HEAVEN began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped CHAMPION KING which as a result became unbalanced. CHAMPION KING then shifted in and caused crowding on its inside to BOREAS which as a result lost its position. TOFFEE began awkwardly, stumbled and shifted in abruptly. In the early stages, CHAMPION KING proved very difficult to settle when racing without cover. Also in the early stages, TOFFEE raced wide and without cover and near the 800 Metres was ridden along to go forward and shift across to race outside the leader. Making the Home Turn, SEVENS HEAVEN hung out. Near the 400 Metres, GANBARIA had difficulty obtaining clear running between EXPEDITIOUS and TOFFEE. Near the 200 Metres, SEVENS HEAVEN shifted out, resulting in B Prebble, its rider, becoming unbalanced. In the Straight, CHAMPION KING was inclined to lay out. CHAMPION KING and TOFFEE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported CHAMPION KING had sustained a cut to the left hind pastern. Before being allowed to race again, CHAMPION KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
