Racing Incident Report

ABORIGINAL began awkwardly and shortly afterwards was bumped by BRAVERY LUCK which on jumping blundered, then shifted out after being bumped by HORACE'S HORSE which began awkwardly. FAT DRAGON, HAPPY ALL AROUND and NOBLE VICTORY were slow to begin. Near the 1000 Metres, HORACE'S HORSE was momentarily steadied away from the heels of TRUST ME which shifted in. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, HORACE'S HORSE became unbalanced. Also making the turn at the 700 Metres, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS hung out and shifted wide on the course. Prior to straightening, BRAVERY LUCK was bumped by HAPPY ALL AROUND which hung out making the Home Turn. Over about the last 200 Metres, FAT DRAGON hung out badly and proved difficult to ride. When questioned regarding his riding over the concluding stages, C Brown (BRAVERY LUCK), 6th placegetter, said about 20 Metres from the winning post his mount commenced to shift in towards TRUST ME and made contact with that horse about 10 Metres from the winning post. He said because of this he stopped riding his mount to relieve the pressure which had been applied to TRUST ME and consequently did not ride it out to the end of the race as he normally would. The explanation submitted by C Brown was accepted. GOOD VIEW SUCCESS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said an endoscopic examination showed the horse to have a throat inflammation with intermittent displacement of the soft palate. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD VIEW SUCCESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. GOLDEN DRAGON and DOUCAI were sent for sampling.
