Racing Incident Report

KIDDY SING, which was standing with its head turned to the left, was slow to begin. CHALLENGER was slow to begin. Near the 1300 Metres, GOOD TRIO, which was proving difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of MYSTIC FORCE. Near the 700 Metres, LUCKY KING, which was racing in restricted ground inside CHALLENGER, was ridden along to maintain its position. At the 700 Metres, GOOD TRIO (Apprentice C K Tong) was checked when endeavouring to shift away from the rail and obtain a run on the outside of ROYAL FALCON and on the inside of MYSTIC FORCE where there was insufficient room. Near the 600 Metres, GOOD TRIO was steadied when again trying to shift away from the rail to obtain a run on the outside of ROYAL FALCON and inside MYSTIC FORCE where there was insufficient room. Apprentice Tong was told to exercise more care and to ensure there was sufficient room before endeavouring to improve into runs. On straightening, LUCKY KING was steadied away from the heels of GREEN IN BLUE which shifted out. Apprentice C K Tong pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 300 Metres he permitted his mount which had initially shifted out to shift back in towards the running rail when not clear of SUNNY RIVIERA, causing that horse to lose its rightful running, strike the heels of GOOD TRIO, blunder and almost fall. Apprentice Tong was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday 16 June 2005 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting next Sunday 5 June 2005. KIDDY SING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KIDDY SING after the race did not show any significant findings. ROYAL FALCON, DASH AHEAD and SEASONS KNACK were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported CHEERFUL HEART had sustained a laceration to the right hind leg and ROYAL FALCON had lost its left hind plate and showing signs of diarrhoea. Before being allowed to race again, CHEERFUL HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
