Racing Incident Report
BUDDIES POWER had its right front plate replaced in the Parade Ring. SUPER SPECIAL began awkwardly, became unbalanced and lost ground. WITHALLMYHEART and WISE LOVER were slow to begin. As the gates opened, SOUTHERN LIGHT lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin. PRIME DELIGHT began awkwardly and shifted out. After this, PRIME DELIGHT was ridden along to travel in a forward position, however, raced three wide and without cover, then in the Straight gave ground. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, SUPER SPECIAL got its head up and hung out. Also making the turn at the 800 Metres, FUNTRAP, which was being steadied away from the heels of BUDDIES POWER, commenced to over-race. SMARTY, which was following FUNTRAP, was inconvenienced in consequence. After the 700 Metres, FUNTRAP, which was continuing to over-race, got its head up and shifted out away from the heels of BUDDIES POWER, then for some distance raced tight inside HEALTHY FRUITS. Shortly after straightening, SOUTHERN LIGHT was steadied and shifted to the inside of SMARTY to obtain clear running. From shortly after straightening until after the 200 Metres, HEALTHY FRUITS was held up and unable to obtain clear running when racing inside PRIME DELIGHT and behind ONE MORE ROUND. After the 200 Metres, WITHALLMYHEART, which was beginning to close the race off strongly, was steadied when disappointed for running between SUPER SPECIAL and BEST CHOICE. C Munce (FUNTRAP), which performed poorly, said his mount raced greenly and due to its inexperience was not comfortable travelling inside other runners. FUNTRAP was sent for an official veterinary inspection. PRIME DELIGHT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of FUNTRAP and PRIME DELIGHT after the race did not show any significant findings. WISE LOVER and AMBITION were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 5 September 2005)
WISE LOVER was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y O Wong this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have an injury to the left eye and a fever. Before being allowed to race again, WISE LOVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
