Racing Incident Report

SPY KING and PULL NO PUNCH were slow to begin. MASONIC TREASURE began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, TAIJI SPIRIT was steadied when awkwardly placed inside SILLY BOY. At the 900 Metres, WIN HUNTER got its head up when being steadied. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, TAIJI SPIRIT got its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of AWESOME EAGLE. In the early part of the Straight, WIN HUNTER was held up and unable to improve when racing behind FOURSQUARE and tight inside TAIJI SPIRIT. Also in the early part of the Straight, TAIJI SPIRIT had difficulty obtaining clear running between FOURSQUARE and FUNTRAP. In the early part of the Straight, SOUTH CHINA NINETY was unable to obtain clear running and after the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of AWESOME EAGLE to go forward. The performance of MASONIC TREASURE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MASONIC TREASURE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SPY KING, G Schofield said the pace of the race in the early stages was true and his mount which was racing first up from a spell today failed to finish the race off when its condition gave out. He did say near the 200 Metres when WIN HUNTER shifted in front of him SPY KING became unbalanced. SPY KING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SPY KING after the race did not show any significant findings. FOURSQUARE, TAIJI SPIRIT and SOUTH CHINA NINETY were sent for sampling.
