Racing Incident Report
On jumping, TREASURE COLT and PROFIT HILL bumped. Also CHINA SPORTFIELD and NOBLE WIND bumped. Near the 1100 Metres, CHINA SPORTFIELD was steadied when crowded for room between NOBLE WIND and TREASURE COLT (O Doleuze) which when racing ungenerously shifted out. O Doleuze was severely reprimanded and told in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, NOBLE WIND, which had its head on the side and was hanging in, was steadied away from the heels of SHOGUN. As a result, some inconvenience was caused to CHINA SPORTFIELD which was racing on the inside of NOBLE WIND. Also making the turn at the 1000 Metres, CLASSA FOR EVER hung out. Approaching the turn at the 600 Metres, PROFIT HILL, which was proving difficult to settle, was awkwardly placed between GRAND COMMANDS and SHOGUN. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, EVER MORE was steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of HIGHLILLI which stumbled after clipping the heels of TREASURE COLT which at this time got its head on the side and shifted out. Prior to straightening, HAPPY ELITE lost its footing, became badly unbalanced and blundered. After this, HAPPY ELITE gave ground. PROFIT HILL, which was following HAPPY ELITE, was shifted out away from that runner. O Doleuze (TREASURE COLT) said the intention had been to lead if possible, however, if he was not able to do so he should ensure the horse travelled in comfortable racing room. He said after bumping another runner at the start he was unable to lead and then throughout the race TREASURE COLT raced very ungenerously, hung out making the turns and was at no stage of tonight's race comfortable. He said in his opinion this accounted for the poor performance of the horse. TREASURE COLT was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. After the race, TREASURE COLT was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings, however, he noted the horse had lost its left front plate. HIGHLILLI and HAPPY ELITE were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HIGHLILLI and HAPPY ELITE after the race did not show any significant findings. EXCELLENT BOY and PROFIT HILL were sent for sampling.
Additional Veterinary Reports (released on 9 February 2006)
TREASURE COLT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Senior Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings, however, he noted the horse had lost its left front plate. TREASURE COLT was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in the left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, TREASURE COLT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
