Racing Incident Report

FORTUNE LAD was a little slow to begin, then shortly afterwards was crowded for room between TOUCH DOWN and METRO LEADER. POWER TICKER was slow to begin. TO SIR WITH LOVE began awkwardly. From the outside gate, GOOD TRIO was steadied and taken across behind runners. ESPRIT D'OR was slow to muster speed in the early stages. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, CAPABEL made contact with the running rail when racing tight inside TOUCH DOWN which at this time got its head on the side and shifted in away from GOOD TRIO. Near the 250 Metres, ESPRIT D'OR was steadied and shifted to the outside of ON SHAN EXPRESS to continued going forward. At the 250 Metres, TOUCH DOWN was bumped by GOOD TRIO which shifted in. In the Straight, NOBLE VICTORY hung out, shifted wider on the track and proved difficult to ride. Also in the Straight, GOOD TRIO hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, despite being ridden along vigorously, POWER TICKER failed to muster speed and as a consequence travelled wide and without cover, prior to straightening gave ground and finished tailed out. The performance of POWER TICKER was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, POWER TICKER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. TOUCH DOWN was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of TOUCH DOWN after the race did not show any significant findings. SMARTY and NOBLE VICTORY were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported NOBLE VICTORY was lame in the left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE VICTORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
