jumping, TURF GOLD and DR HAENSLER bumped. As a result, TURF GOLD lost ground. Shortly after the start, MY EGO had its head on the side, shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of SUNRISE LINING. On straightening, AMBITION was carried wider by KIWI DASH which shifted to the outside of SUNRISE LINING into clear running. At the 150 Metres, DR HAENSLER was checked when disappointed for running between PAY-DAY and WYNDAM PLENTY which shifted in when giving ground. Near the 100 Metres, PAY-DAY was checked when crowded for room inside WYNDAM PLENTY (D Nikolic) which continued to shift in when giving ground quickly. In the circumstances, D Nikolic was severely reprimanded. M Nunes (SIMPLY THE BEST) said when he rode the horse first up this season it travelled in a forward position, failed to finish the race off and was most disappointing. He said therefore today he had been instructed from a wide barrier to ride the horse more quietly. He said as a consequence he allowed SIMPLY THE BEST to travel in a rearward position, however, again the horse failed to finish the race off and was most disappointing. M Odendaal (DR HAENSLER) explained after the 300 Metres he was aware WYNDAM PLENTY was commencing to shift out whilst giving ground, he therefore decided to endeavour to improve on the inside of this horse as he felt sufficient running would eventuate. SUNRISE LINING was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUNRISE LINING after the race did not show any significant findings. NATIVE LANGUAGE and KIWI DASH were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported BALL OF FIRE had blood present at both nostrils. He said an endoscopic examination showed the horse's trachea to be clean and as such the horse was not deemed to have bled.
