Racing Incident Report
When entering the track, STEP TO WIN made contact with the rail, became fractious and on two more occasions made contact with the rail, resulting in S Dye, its rider, being dislodged. STEP TO WIN then galloped a considerable distance riderless before being recaptured. Acting on veterinary advice that STEP TO WIN was not suitable to race, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of the horse. Before being allowed to race again, STEP TO WIN will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. S Dye was subsequently examined by the Club's doctor who said in his opinion S Dye was suitable to fulfil his remaining riding engagements. When the gates opened, SUNNY CITY, which was slow to begin, shifted in abruptly and refused to take part in the race. Before being allowed to race again, SUNNY CITY will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. CASH MONEY and GOLDEN CROWN were slow to begin. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, TREASURABLE was awkwardly placed behind HONG KONG LAD. Approaching the winning post, GRASS HOPPER was steadied and shifted in when unable to improve between TREASURABLE and GOLDEN CROWN. The performance of KING'S CHOICE, which tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KING'S CHOICE will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SOUTH CHINA ELITE and FLAG FINDER were sent for sampling.
