Racing Incident Report
SUPER GOAL MASTER began awkwardly. Approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, EVER KING got its head up and proved difficult to settle when being steadied while awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER GOAL MASTER. In the early stages, GEM POWER proved difficult to settle. SUPER POWER made the Home Turn awkwardly and hung out. SPIRIT OF LO PAN also made the Home Turn awkwardly, shifted out and was close to the heels of CHINESE BOY BOY. Then on straightening, SPIRIT OF LO PAN was checked when disappointed for running between CHINESE BOY BOY and EVER KING which was carried out by SUPER GOAL MASTER. MASTER ABLE, which was following, was hampered in consequence. At the 400 Metres, RED WINE HONEY, which was endeavouring to shift out to obtain clear running, was checked when crowded for room between SUPER FANTASY and SUPER GOAL MASTER (C K Tong) which became unbalanced and shifted in when disappointed for running between SUPER POWER which was giving ground and NAMJONG GOODLUCK. C K Tong was told to ensure there was sufficient racing room before endeavouring to improve his position into runs. Shortly after straightening, CHAMPION PIONEER was steadied and shifted in to obtain clear running. At the 300 Metres, MASTER ABLE and SPIRIT OF LO PAN were hampered and carried wider by CHINESE BOY BOY which shifted out after being bumped by EVER KING which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NAMJONG GOODLUCK which at this time shifted out. In the circumstances, no action was taken. For the major part of the race, CHINESE BOY BOY travelled wide and without cover. The performance of SUPER POWER was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER POWER will have to perform competitively in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. B Prebble (NAMJONG GOODLUCK) said his mount travelled strongly until the 600 Metres, however, when placed under pressure failed to respond to his riding and was most disappointing. He said in his opinion NAMJONG GOODLUCK today raced "flat". NAMJONG GOODLUCK and EVER KING were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, NAMJONG GOODLUCK was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said there were no significant findings other than the horse had lost its left front plate. A veterinary inspection of EVER KING after the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER FANTASY and CHAMPION PIONEER were sent for sampling.
