Racing Incident Report
MULLAAD began awkwardly and lost ground. MERIDIAN PRIDE was slow to begin and as a consequence got well back. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, FLORAL PRINCE failed to muster speed. Near the 1000 Metres, HE CAN TANGO became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of WELL NOTED which shifted in when barely clear. RICH DRAGON made the turn at the 800 Metres awkwardly and was steadied away from the heels of HE CAN TANGO. Approaching the 600 Metres, MERIDIAN PRIDE raced tight inside NICE KING which was awkwardly placed close to the heels of RICH DRAGON. At the 400 Metres, MERIDIAN PRIDE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside SUPER SURPRISE which shifted in momentarily. At the 50 Metres, RICH DRAGON, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied when awkwardly placed between SUPER SURPRISE and NICE KING. After the 50 Metres, FAIR WIN and HE CAN TANGO brushed. Shortly after this, FAIR WIN was brushed by CRYSTAL which improved into a narrow run on its inside. In the Straight, NICE KING hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, RICH FOR ALL travelled wide and without cover. HE CAN TANGO, WELL NOTED and CRYSTAL were sent for sampling. After the race, B Prebble (NICE KING) expressed concerns over the action of the horse. NICE KING was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings.
