Racing Incident Report
SPY KING was withdrawn on 5.6.07 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FRIENDS FOREVER (Apprentice C W Wong). Before being allowed to race again, SPY KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. On entering the track after leaving the Parade Ring, DRAGON INN veered inwards, dislodged M W Leung, its rider and made contact with the inside running rail. DRAGON INN was quickly recaptured, remounted and after arriving at the Start was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. As the gates opened, SUPER SPECIAL, which had been fractious in the stall, bounded in the air and lost ground. JET RISE began awkwardly and lost ground. From the outside barrier, in the early stages, MILLION CHASE was taken across behind runners, then after entering the Back Straight was checked when crowded for room between BALL OF FIRE and SUPER SPECIAL, both of which shifted ground. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, SO NICE became unbalanced after being bumped by FRIENDS FOREVER. Also making the turn at the 600 Metres, MILLION CHASE was crowded for room inside SUPER SPECIAL which itself was racing tight inside MAIN ATTRACTION. In the middle stages, SUPER SPECIAL proved difficult to settle. Making the turn at the 500 Metres, FRIENDS FOREVER hung out. Making the Home Turn, MILLION CHASE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JET RISE. Also making the Home Turn and in the Straight, SO NICE hung out. After the 200 Metres, SUPER SPECIAL was shifted to the inside of PROFIT HILL to continue going forward. For the major part of the race, MAIN ATTRACTION travelled wide and without cover. SUPER SPECIAL was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. A veterinary inspection of SUPER SPECIAL after the race did not show any significant findings. DRAGON INN and SO NICE were sent for sampling.
