Racing Incident Report
ENCOSTA DON began awkwardly and lost ground. TAIJI SPIRIT and MAGIC TEMPLE were slow to begin. Approaching the 1000 Metres, SUPER PEGASUS was steadied away from the heels of JOLLY GOOD FORTUNE (Z Purton) which shifted in abruptly while not clear. Z Purton was reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, MASTER CRISTO hung out. At the 150 Metres, SUPER PEGASUS was steadied away from the heels of SIAMERIC TE SPECSO. After the 50 Metres, TREASURABLE was carried in slightly by DEMINER which shifted ground. F Coetzee (DEMINER), 6th placegetter, was found guilty of a charge of having failed to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards [Rule 100(2)]. For this breach, F Coetzee was fined $20,000. SUPER PEGASUS was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER PEGASUS after the race did not show any significant findings. PICKETT and SIAMERIC TE SPECSO were sent for sampling.
