Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, BELONG TO CASA became fractious. TRAVEL CONSULTANT, which was also fractious in its stall, was slow to begin and lost a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, BELONG TO CASA and TRAVEL CONSULTANT will both have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. TRULLI and MIRACLE FORTUNE were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, BELONG TO CASA was checked when crowded for room between CLASSA FOR EVER and TIGER RIDGE, both of which shifted ground. No action was taken. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, TRULLI was crowded for room inside TREASURABLE. On straightening, TREASURABLE was steadied and shifted to the outside of DIAMOND SUPREME. At the 100 Metres, DIAMOND SUPREME commenced to shift out. Because of this, Apprentice K T Yeung, its rider, stopped riding and straightened his mount. At the 50 Metres, WINE WIN, which was giving ground, became unbalanced and was steadied when awkwardly placed between MIRACLE FORTUNE and TRULLI. Throughout the race, HAPPY GO LUCKY travelled wide and without cover. Z Purton (TREASURABLE) reported his saddle shifted to the left hand side shortly after the start and as a consequence he was at a disadvantage in riding his mount. M W Leung (CLASSA FOR EVER) explained he had been instructed to lead if possible on the horse. He said CLASSA FOR EVER began awkwardly and shifted out. He said he then rode along, however, his mount did not show its usual speed and was not able to lead. He said at the 700 Metres he looked to his inside and felt there might be an opportunity for him to allow DIAMOND SUPREME and MIRACLE FORTUNE to go forward and he would then be able to obtain a position on the fence behind MIRACLE FORTUNE. He said he was of the opinion CLASSA FOR EVER races best when on the fence. He said as he steadied CLASSA FOR EVER, TREASURABLE and TRULLI improved their positions which prevented him from shifting in at that time. Y T Cheng (WHISKY POWER) explained it was anticipated the horse would travel in a position behind the leaders. He said on jumping WHISKY POWER was bumped by WINE WIN, he then rode along, however, WHISKY POWER did not show its usual speed. He said near the 900 Metres WHISKY POWER was again bumped by WINE WIN which shifted out at this time. He said as a result of this WHISKY POWER became unbalanced. He said after this WHISKY POWER continued to race awkwardly and lost ground. He said near the 700 Metres WHISKY POWER became unbalanced in its action and lost further ground. He added in the Straight WHISKY POWER did not respond to his riding and he was concerned given the manner in which the horse had travelled that something might be amiss with it, he therefore did not ride his mount out to the end of the race. WHISKY POWER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of WHISKY POWER after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, WHISKY POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HAR HAR CHARMS and DIAMOND SUPREME were sent for sampling.
