Racing Incident Report
NICE KING was withdrawn on 26.4.08 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter MAGIC SWEEP (O Doleuze). Before being allowed to race again, NICE KING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SAFETY FIRST and FAVOURITE SUPREME were slow into stride. MAGIC TURBO began awkwardly, then despite being ridden along took time to muster speed and approaching the 800 Metres when left racing without cover was again ridden along to go forward. After the 800 Metres, DEERFIELD was left racing wide and without cover. On straightening, DEERFIELD was bumped by MAGIC SWEEP which was being shifted to the outside of BRILLIANT CHAPTER to obtain clear running as that horse shifted out away from COSMO SUCCESSOR. At the 250 Metres, NAMJONG FIGHTERS was momentarily steadied and shifted to the outside of BRILLIANT CHAPTER to continue going forward. At the 150 Metres, M Du Plessis (MAGIC TEMPLE) momentarily dropped his right rein. Over the concluding stages, SOLAR ENERGY hung in. Approaching the winning post, SAFETY FIRST was not able to obtain clear running and because of this was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. FAVOURITE SUPREME was sent for an official veterinary inspection and sampling. DEERFIELD and MONTE CRISTO were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of FAVOURITE SUPREME, DEERFIELD and MONTE CRISTO after the race did not show any significant findings. TAN TAT BABY and LIFELINE RAPIDE were sent for sampling.
