Racing Incident Report

ALICE TOO was slow to begin and was then steadied away from the heels of CONNOISSEUR’S LOVE. After this, from a wide barrier, ALICE TOO was taken across behind runners and after the 800 Metres was then shifted wider on the track and ridden along to go forward. Shortly after the start, FISHKING EXCELLENT and SPRING SMILES bumped. Near the 1600 Metres, SPRING SMILES was steadied when awkwardly placed between FISHKING EXCELLENT and WONG’S FAVOURITE. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, KING OF SHAVER was steadied when awkwardly placed between SOMETHING SPECIAL and DOUBLE PLEASURE. In the early stages, EVERGREEN travelled wide and without cover and making the turn at the 1000 Metres went forward to join the lead. After the 700 Metres, DOUBLE PLEASURE became unbalanced when awkwardly placed outside the heels of MASTER DREAMER. Prior to straightening, LE ROSSIGNOL was checked to avoid the heels of EVERGREEN which commenced to give ground. When LE ROSSIGNOL was checked, it shifted out and bumped MASTER DREAMER, causing both horses to become unbalanced and ALICE TOO which was following to be steadied in consequence. After the 300 Metres, WONG’S FAVOURITE was steadied when momentarily crowded for room inside G-ONE LEADING. In the Straight, SOMETHING SPECIAL hung out and proved difficult to ride. Also in the Straight, G-ONE LEADING hung in and proved difficult to ride. After the race, O Doleuze reported he was concerned with the action of DOUBLE PLEASURE which finished tailed out. DOUBLE PLEASURE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of DOUBLE PLEASURE after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of DOUBLE PLEASURE was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, DOUBLE PLEASURE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SOMETHING SPECIAL and MASTER DREAMER were sent for sampling.
