Racing Incident Report

SUPER SPECIAL began awkwardly and bumped SOU MA TAM. Shortly after the start, DASHING WINNER, which was being taken back, was steadied away from the heels of SOU MA TAM. Near the 1100 Metres, KING'S CHOICE was checked when crowded for room between STEP FORWARD and GENERAL KINGY (S K Sit) which shifted out when being straightened after initially shifting in towards CLASSIC HORSE which was racing to its inside. In the circumstances, S K Sit was severely reprimanded and told to exercise greater care. Along the Back Straight, PERFECT ATHLETE was left racing wide and without cover. After the 800 Metres, CLASSIC HORSE was crowded for room inside KING'S CHOICE which shifted in when being steadied away from the heels of GENERAL KINGY which shifted ground. No action was taken. At the 500 Metres, GENERAL KINGY was steadied to avoid the heels of PERFECT ATHLETE which shifted in when barely clear. Approaching the 400 Metres, STEP FORWARD was steadied away from the heels of KING'S CHOICE. TRIUMPHANT GLORY, which was following, was steadied in consequence. For some distance after the 200 Metres, TRIUMPHANT GLORY had difficulty obtaining clear running. KING'S CHOICE, PERFECT ATHLETE and GENERAL KINGY were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of KING'S CHOICE, PERFECT ATHLETE and GENERAL KINGY after the race did not show any significant findings. HAPPY ASH, SOU MA TAM and CLASSIC HORSE were sent for sampling.
