Racing Incident Report

On jumping, WHATABOB got its head up and lost ground. GRAND DANCER was slow into stride and then was bumped by CLASSA which shifted in. In the early stages, from the outside barrier, FERRO BEAU was taken back. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, LOCAL POWER failed to muster speed. At the 1000 Metres, WHATABOB got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LUMINOUS. Near the 900 Metres, CLEMENT ELITE got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LUMINOUS (C K Tong). C K Tong will be told to exercise greater care when shifting ground. Approaching the 800 Metres, WHATABOB was steadied when awkwardly placed inside the hindquarters of BEAUTY EXPRESS. Also near the 800 Metres, FERRO BEAU and LOCAL POWER were steadied when awkwardly placed inside the heels of GRAND DANCER which shifted in slightly. At the 700 Metres, WHATABOB, which was racing ungenerously, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY EXPRESS. On straightening, GRAND DANCER was steadied and shifted to the inside of SOLAR ENERGY to go forward. Also on straightening, BULLISH WIN was steadied when disappointed for running between ENERGIZED and WHATABOB. Throughout the race, ENERGIZED travelled wide and without cover, making the Home Turn and in the Straight hung out and proved difficult to ride, then over the concluding stages was eased down and finished tailed out. ENERGIZED was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of ENERGIZED after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, ENERGIZED will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, B Prebble (SOLAR ENERGY) said the action of his mount shortened up noticeably after the 200 Metres and as he was concerned with his mount he did not persevere in riding it out to the end of the race. SOLAR ENERGY was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SOLAR ENERGY after the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SOLAR ENERGY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BERIO and RICE FIELD were sent for sampling.
