Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, ELECTRONIC MASTER became fractious, reared, lunged forward and forced open the front gates. In this incident, ELECTRONIC MASTER struck its head on an overhead bar. ELECTRONIC MASTER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said, in his opinion, it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of ELECTRONIC MASTER. Before being permitted to race again, ELECTRONIC MASTER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. As the start was effected, AMAZING FORTUNE lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin. HAPPY CHA CHA was also slow to begin. Rounding the Home Turn, AMAZING FORTUNE was checked away from the heels of PERPETUAL DELIGHT. Over the final 100 Metres, PERFECT TEN shifted in under pressure and passing the 50 Metres brushed CLASSA SUPREME which in turn shifted in and brushed CENTURY MOLLY. When questioned, O Doleuze (SOHNA) stated that he had been instructed to obtain a more forward position due to drawing the inside barrier. He said it was anticipated that CENTURY MOLLY would show superior speed and he would be able to allow that horse to cross and race behind the speed, if possible. He said SOHNA began well, he allowed the horse to travel into a forward position, but he immediately noticed that CENTURY MOLLY, despite being vigorously ridden along in the early stages, was not mustering the speed he anticipated. He said for this reason he allowed SOHNA to remain racing inside that horse with a view to ascertaining whether CENTURY MOLLY would be able to gather momentum to cross or whether horses which were drawn to its outside would shift across into leading positions. He said approaching the 1300 Metres when a number of runners were ridden to go forward from wider barriers, he elected to steady SOHNA which then allowed CENTURY MOLLY to shift in to the fence and provide SOHNA with a trailing position. STEEL NERVES and PERFECT TEN were sent for sampling.
