Racing Incident Report

ORIENTAL COURSER was slow to begin. GOOD FORTUNE began awkwardly, resulting in C K Tong, its rider, losing his right stirrup for a short distance. Near the 350 Metres, LIONS’ FORTUNE was steadied away from the heels of GOLD RUSH. Throughout the race, FULL BLESSINGS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, S K Sit (GALACTIC TACTIC) said that he had been instructed to have the hose racing where it was comfortable. He said the horse, which was leaning against the inside of its barrier, began awkwardly and was slow to begin. He said having in mind his instructions, he was reluctant to ride the horse along in the early stages to make up ground and for this reason GALACTIC TACTIC settled towards the back of the field. A veterinary inspection of TAI HANG’S PRIDE and ORIENTAL COURSER after the race did not show any significant findings. GOLD RUSH, GENERAL SMILE and LIONS’ FORTUNE were sent for sampling. <8/2/2010 Additional Veterinary Report> ORIENTAL COURSER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. ORIENTAL COURSER was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer A T Millard this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left hind leg. Before being allowed to race again, ORIENTAL COURSER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
