Racing Incident Report
On arrival at the Start, it was noted that there was blood in the mouth of GOLDMEN Y Y due to a gum abrasion. GOLDMEN Y Y was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. After being loaded, PIZZAZZ became fractious and put its head down. PIZZAZZ was removed from the barrier stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, PIZZAZZ will have to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. EXTRACTIVE, TOUCH CHIC and ELITE FORTUNE were slow to begin. GOLDMEN Y Y and FOREST STAR bumped at the start. Making the first turn until straightening, ELECTRONIC DRAGON got its head on the side and hung out. As a consequence, ELECTRONIC DRAGON travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race. Shortly after entering the Straight, WITHALLMYHEART was steadied and shifted in when disappointed for running between PIZZAZZ and ELECTRONIC DRAGON. Passing the 400 Metres, WASABISABI was steadied when disappointed for running between ASALI VICTORY and HAPPEE GIFT which shifted in slightly. Near the 200 Metres, TOUCH CHIC was steadied away from the heels of PLENTIFUL which shifted in. Over the concluding stages, ELITE FORTUNE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PLENTIFUL. For this reason, ELITE FORTUNE was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Throughout the race, ASALI VICTORY hung in badly and proved difficult to ride. When questioned, W C Marwing said that GOLDMEN Y Y has a habit of hanging out in its track work and for this reason he was instructed to attempt to have a horse racing to his outside in order to prevent the horse from hanging out today. He said GOLDMEN Y Y, which was dropping back in distance to 1200 Metres, was out-paced in the early stages, therefore he shifted the horse to the fence at the tail of the field near the 800 Metres. He said passing the 800 Metres he rode the horse along to ensure he maintained a position to the inside of FOREST STAR, however, passing the 700 Metres GOLDMEN Y Y was momentarily steadied inside the heels of FOREST STAR when that horse shifted in slightly. He added that due to GOLDMEN Y Y racing inside FOREST STAR rounding the turns, GOLDMEN Y Y was quite tractable. He said he placed GOLDMEN Y Y under pressure passing the 600 Metres and the horse finished off the race well in the Straight although over the concluding stages it raced awkwardly inside the heels of ELECTRONIC DRAGON. He stated, in his opinion, GOLDMEN Y Y would be suited in races over a further distance than that of today’s race. A veterinary inspection of ELECTRONIC DRAGON after the race did not show any significant findings. PLENTIFUL and PIZZAZZ were sent for sampling.
