Racing Incident Report

CHINA DRAGON was slow to begin. BESPOKE MASTER was crowded for room at the start between TEAM WORK and PERFECT JOY which shifted out. Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, TEAM WORK was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERFECT JOY which was steadied to allow OUR PEGASUS to cross. Approaching the 200 Metres, PAR EXCELLENCE was steadied and shifted to the inside of RAINBOW SEEKER when disappointed for running between that horse and BESPOKE MASTER. RAINBOW SEEKER was not able to obtain clear running at any stage in the Straight and for this reason was not able to be tested. B Prebble (ISLAND SUPER) reported that the horse hung in in the Straight and proved difficult to ride. When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that after the 1100 Metres BESPOKE MASTER got its head up and proved very difficult to settle. He said that he had intended to maintain his position to the inside of TEAM WORK, however, BESPOKE MASTER was not able to maintain his position to the inside of TEAM WORK due to the manner in which the horse was racing. When questioned, O Doleuze (GO LEGEND GO) stated that from the outside barrier he had been instructed to attempt to obtain some cover on the horse and it was felt that as there was good speed in the race, this would be in a position behind midfield. He said GO LEGEND GO shifted out badly on jumping and then immediately got its head on the side and hung out. He said he rode GO LEGEND GO along in the early stages in an attempt to initially clear ISLAND SUPER, however, when GO LEGEND GO continued to hang out badly, he elected to steady GO LEGEND GO and obtain a position behind ISLAND SUPER. He added that when he did this, GO LEGEND GO hung out badly making the turn at the 1000 Metres and proved difficult to shift across behind ISLAND SUPER. He said approaching the 800 Metres he was eventually able to position GO LEGEND GO behind ISLAND SUPER and obtain cover. He said GO LEGEND GO continued to lay out throughout the race and rounding the Home Turn got its head on the side and shifted wider. He added when placed under pressure in the Straight, GO LEGEND GO finished off the race well. A veterinary inspection of GO LEGEND GO after the race did not show any significant findings. RAINBOW SEEKER, SUPREME FAY FAY and TEAM WORK were sent for sampling.
<10/2/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>Trainer C S Shum presented ISLAND SUPER to the Veterinary Officer this afternoon. The Veterinary Officer noted that the horse was lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, ISLAND SUPER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
