Racing Incident Report

From the outside barrier, SUISSE D’OR was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. BLEDISLOE got its head up on a number of occasions in the early stages when being steadied to shift across behind runners. Approaching the Home Turn, YOUNG HERO improved into a tight run between DASH AHEAD and WONDERFUL GAINS. A short distance later, WONDERFUL GAINS was checked when crowded for room between MASTER DREAMER which was giving ground and YOUNG HERO which was taken out by DASH AHEAD. As the Stewards were of the view that there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken. Near the 150 Metres, HOW WONDERFUL, which was closing off the race, was steadied away from the heels of DASH AHEAD and shifted out when DASH AHEAD was taken in slightly by YOUNG HERO. A short distance after this, DASH AHEAD was momentarily crowded for room between BLEDISLOE and YOUNG HERO. Throughout the race, MASTER DREAMER travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of WONDERFUL GAINS after the race revealed that the horse was lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, WONDERFUL GAINS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SOLAR WONDER, FAT DRAGON and PRIVATE ROAD were sent for sampling.
<24/2/2011 Additional Veterinary Report> The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that GREAT LUCK was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, GREAT LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
