Racing Incident Report

As the start was effected, MISTER HORSE, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin. SUPER GENERAL and EL GRANDE bumped at the start. From a wide barrier, EASY AHEAD was shifted in across behind runners shortly after the start. Approaching the 1100 Metres, SUPER GENERAL was steadied when crowded for room between EL GRANDE and BEAUTIFUL DREAMER which shifted out. Near the 800 Metres, CLASSIC FIGURE was crowded for room between FLYING KEEPER and CHATER POWER (D Whyte) which was taken in slightly by SOU MA TAM (M W Leung) which shifted in when not quite clear. In this incident, CLASSIC FIGURE shifted in and bumped FLYING KEEPER which became unbalanced. In the circumstances, both D Whyte and M W Leung were advised to ensure that they leave comfortable racing room for runners to their inside in future. After the 800 Metres, CHATER POWER was left racing wide and without cover. Also after the 800 Metres, EASY AHEAD proved difficult to settle when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HONOUR LIST. After the 600 Metres, MISTER HORSE got its head on the side when racing close to the heels of STAR OF FAME, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of SUPER GENERAL which became unbalanced. Near the 200 Metres, MISTER HORSE was checked when disappointed for running between FLYING KEEPER and CLASSIC FIGURE (G Cheyne) which shifted in. In this incident, MISTER HORSE made contact with FLYING KEEPER on a number of occasions, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced. G Cheyne was advised that whilst the Stewards found that MISTER HORSE had not properly established running between FLYING KEEPER and CLASSIC FIGURE, he was nonetheless reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. In the Straight, SUPER GENERAL got its head on the side and hung in. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that CHATER POWER had lost its right hind plate. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTIFUL DREAMER after the race did not show any significant findings. CHATER POWER, STAR OF FAME and EL GRANDE were sent for sampling.
