Racing Incident Report

After being loaded, TARREGA got its head down and attempted to break out under the front gates. TARREGA was removed from the barrier stalls and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of TARREGA. Before being allowed to race again, TARREGA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FOLLOW THE MONEY began awkwardly.
WINNING BEAR and CRAIG’S PRIDE bumped at the start.
TIPPERARY DAVOR shifted in at the start and bumped PERFECT MOMENT.
From wide barriers, VIVA GUY and OYSTER were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, TIPPERARY DAVOR momentarily raced tight inside AMBITIOUS TREASURE when being steadied to obtain cover behind that horse.
Near the 1300 Metres, FOLLOW THE MONEY became unbalanced after shifting in and brushing the running rail.
Near the 900 Metres, TIPPERARY DAVOR got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMBITIOUS TREASURE.
In the early part of the Straight, TWIN TURBO and AMBITIOUS TREASURE raced tight as AMBITIOUS TREASURE shifted out to obtain clear running outside EASY GOLD. Then near the 100 Metres, TWIN TURBO and AMBITIOUS TREASURE again raced tight.
Over the concluding stages, PERFECT MOMENT and WINNING BEAR raced tight.
Throughout the race, EASY GOLD travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, D Whyte stated that he had been instructed to obtain a forward position on TWIN TURBO from barrier 9 due to the anticipated slow tempo of the race. He said in accordance with his instructions, he rode his mount aggressively in the early stages to obtain a forward position, however, TWIN TURBO did not show early speed and, in his opinion, appeared to be resenting being ridden along. He said for this reason, approaching the 1500 Metres, he steadied TWIN TURBO and shifted it across behind EASY GOLD. He said although TWIN TURBO raced in a three wide position, it had cover at all times, travelled well and was able to gradually improve into the race.
MING HOI TREASURE, PERFECT MOMENT and AMBITIOUS TREASURE were sent for sampling.
