Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, C K Tong expressed concern regarding the action of HONG KONG FAT. HONG KONG FAT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in the left front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of HONG KONG FAT. Before being allowed to race again, HONG KONG FAT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
As the start was effected, RIYADH got its head down and consequently was slow to begin.
GOOD FELLOW began awkwardly.
From the outside barrier, MIZZEN GREY was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SILVER DRAGON was awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANZULU. Then approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, SILVER DRAGON commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DANZULU. Passing the 1000 Metres, SILVER DRAGON continued to over-race and passing the 900 Metres commenced to race fiercely and had to be checked away from the heels of DANZULU. After this, SILVER DRAGON continued to prove very difficult to settle.
Rounding the Home Turn, SILVER DRAGON became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by AMBITIOUS TREASURE which shifted out to obtain clear running.
For some distance approaching the 200 Metres, AMBITIOUS TREASURE raced in restricted room between SILVER DRAGON and DANZULU.
For the majority of the race, GOLDEN WIDE travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GOOD FELLOW was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GOOD FELLOW will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of RIYADH and SILVER DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
RIYADH, OTTIMO and STEP FASTER were sent for sampling.
