Racing Incident Report

SLICK BULLET began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of CRACKERJACK, resulting in SLICK BULLET becoming unbalanced and losing ground.
As the start was effected, WEALTHY FORTUNE lifted its front feet off the ground and then was slow to begin. After this, WEALTHY FORTUNE was taken across behind runners.
From wide barriers, WHY NOT, CHAMPAGNE DAYS and SILVER GRECIAN were all taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Passing the 1200 Metres, WEALTHY FORTUNE commenced to prove difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions. SILVER GRECIAN, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of WEALTHY FORTUNE in consequence.
After the 800 Metres, WHY NOT was left racing wide and without cover.
SLICK BULLET had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.
When obtaining a narrow run between PERFECT CHEERS and BLAZING SPEED passing the 300 Metres, FLAGSHIP SHINE bumped the hindquarters of BLAZING SPEED which became unbalanced.
Passing the 200 Metres, WHY NOT was steadied when crowded for room between TURBO JEWELLERY and SILVER GRECIAN (O Doleuze) which shifted in. O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.
Over the concluding stages, SLICK BULLET and MR MEDICI raced tight due to MR MEDICI shifting out marginally under pressure.
A veterinary inspection of WHY NOT immediately following the race revealed that there was blood at the horse’s left nostril, however, an endoscopic examination confirmed that the trachea was clean and therefore the horse was not deemed to have bled.
FLAGSHIP SHINE and MR MEDICI were sent for sampling.
