Racing Incident Report

VERY RICH MAN, which was fractious in the barriers, lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and consequently was slow to begin.
JUMBO HAPPINESS began only fairly and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners.
Shortly after the start, C P POWER momentarily raced tight between TRENDIFUL and LYRIC ACE which shifted out.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, C P POWER shifted out away from the heels of TRENDIFUL and bumped MASSIVE MOVE, which throughout the race travelled wide and without cover, resulting in that horse becoming unbalanced and being taken wider.
Passing the 400 Metres, C P POWER was steadied when attempting to obtain tight running between TRENDIFUL and MASSIVE MOVE.
Passing the 150 Metres, JUMBO HAPPINESS, which was closing off the race well, was shifted out away from the heels of C P POWER which lay out under pressure.
After the race, H W Lai (HAPPY SOUND) said that the horse, which was having its first start at Happy Valley tonight, was reluctant to stretch out despite being ridden along throughout the race, did not feel comfortable in its action and became unbalanced on a number of occasions. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY SOUND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that TRENDIFUL had bled from both nostrils.
Also following the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on C P POWER at the request of Trainer A Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon reported that this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, C P POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of LYRIC ACE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, LYRIC ACE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of VERY RICH MAN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
C P POWER, JUNZI and BEAUTY CONNECTION were sent for sampling.
