Racing Incident Report
DARING FIT was withdrawn on 8.11.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (coughing) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter LOVE CHUNGHWA (B Prebble). Before being allowed to race again, DARING FIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
BUDDY BUNDY shifted in at the start and bumped HASTA LA VISTA which in turn shifted in and bumped NEVER BETTER.
LOVE CHUNGHWA began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, FUN MANAGER, SHINING CHAMPION and ROYALE ELEGANCE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
HIGH VOLATILITY raced wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres after which FUNNY BUDDIES was left racing wide and without cover.
Shortly after entering the Straight, NEVER BETTER was shifted in away from the heels of BREEDERS’ STAR to obtain clear running.
ROYALE ELEGANCE was unable to obtain clear running over the final 200 Metres and consequently was not able to be properly tested.
Passing the 150 Metres, FUN MANAGER was shifted out away from the heels of HASTA LA VISTA which was shifted to the inside of HIGH VOLATILITY.
Near the 50 Metres, YOURTHEWONFORME and SECRET AGENT raced tight.
Close to the finishing line, LOVE CHUNGHWA raced in restricted room between BUDDY BUNDY and BREEDERS’ STAR when attempting to improve into tight running between those horses. Consequently LOVE CHUNGHWA was not able to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
After the race, Z Purton stated that, in his opinion, HIGH VOLATILITY did not appreciate tonight’s firm racing surface. He said when the horse was successful last start, it was on a rain affected surface. A veterinary inspection of HIGH VOLATILITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
NEVER BETTER, BREEDERS’ STAR and BUDDY BUNDY were sent for sampling.
