Racing Incident Report

CHIU CHOW KID and GREAT SMART bumped on jumping.
Soon after the start, BUNDLE OF ENERGY shifted in, resulting in VICTORY SONG being taken in onto DIVINE POWER which was inconvenienced.
From the outside barrier, MISCHIEVOUS SUNDAE was steadied soon after the start and shifted across behind runners.
After the 1300 Metres, DIVINE POWER was steadied when momentarily tightened for room by VIRTUS STAR which shifted in marginally before being directed back out.
For some distance after passing the 600 Metres, GALAXY RACER raced tight between BUNDLE OF ENERGY and TARGET FINDER which commenced to lose ground. All three runners became unbalanced due to making contact.
MISCHIEVOUS SUNDAE lost its left front plate after the 400 Metres.
When questioned, M Chadwick stated that although it was intended to lead on GREAT HARVEST, TARGET FINDER showed superior speed from its inside barrier which required him to race to the outside of that horse. He said GREAT HARVEST tended to race a little keenly in the early stages and therefore when TARGET FINDER commenced to come under pressure in the Back Straight, he allowed his mount to stride forward into the lead hoping that it would travel better. He added however that after assuming the lead he was then quickly challenged by WONDERFUL TIGER after the 600 Metres at which stage GREAT HARVEST came under immediate pressure and then failed to respond to his riding from that point. He said the only excuse he could offer was that GREAT HARVEST may not have handled the pressure of the race when racing at Happy Valley at the first time of asking. A veterinary inspection of GREAT HARVEST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GALAXY RACER, WONDERFUL TIGER and VIRTUS STAR were sent for sampling.
