Racing Incident Report

MOMENTUM GALAXY was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners.
RESOLUTE shifted in at the start and bumped MANY GAINS.
VICTORIOUS LEADER shifted out at the start and made contact with ARDENODE.
CONFUCIUS DAY and SKY DARCI bumped at the start.
From a wide barrier, MY FAMILY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, DRAGON IN FIELD became unbalanced in its action.
Passing the 1000 Metres, MOMENTUM GALAXY commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed behind MANY GAINS.
V Borges (ARDENODE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 700 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in, causing MANY GAINS to be unnecessarily crowded for room and lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. MOMENTUM GALAXY, which was following ARDENODE and which was proving difficult to settle, was checked and shifted out abruptly away from the heels of MANY GAINS, causing VICTORIOUS LEADER to be severely checked. V Borges was suspended from riding in races for the racemeeting to be conducted at Sha Tin on Sunday, 5 July 2020. As such, V Borges is eligible to resume race riding on Monday, 6 July 2020. In addition, Jockey Borges was fined $25,000. A Hamelin stated that after being severely checked near the 700 Metres, VICTORIOUS LEADER lost its action for some distance and after attempting to rebalance the horse until after the 600 Metres, he was concerned for its welfare and for this reason he eased it down passing the 500 Metres. A veterinary inspection of VICTORIOUS LEADER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Although VICTORIOUS LEADER was severely checked at the 700 Metres, having regard to the evidence of A Hamelin in respect of the horse’s action after this incident, the Stewards ruled that VICTORIOUS LEADER, which finished tailed out, will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
Near the 250 Metres, ARDENODE was shifted to the outside of INTERSTELLAR to continue improving.
Passing the 250 Metres, INTERSTELLAR shifted in away from SKY DARCI and was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of VERY RICH MAN.
INTERSTELLAR got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly near the 150 Metres, requiring its rider to stop riding and change his whip over into his right hand.
A veterinary inspection of CONFUCIUS DAY and INTERSTELLAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SKY DARCI and HERE COMES TED were sent for sampling.
