Racing Incident Report

LUCKY VICTOR began only fairly and then was crowded for room on jumping between READY CONQUEROR and WINNING WARRIOR which shifted out.
AFTER ME was bumped on jumping by I’M THE CONQUIST which shifted in.
FOR FUN’S SAKE began awkwardly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
From a wide barrier, JOY AVENUE was also shifted across behind runners to obtain cover in the early stages.
Approaching the 800 Metres, FOR FUN’S SAKE was shifted out away from the heels of JOY AVENUE.
WINNING WARRIOR made the turn after the 600 Metres awkwardly.
Shortly after entering the Straight, DR EQ got its head on the side and lay in and after this gave ground. After the race, J Moreira stated that DR EQ came under heavy pressure after the 500 Metres and he was concerned how quickly it gave ground after straightening. He said the way that DR EQ weakened indicated to him that the horse may be experiencing some internal issues. A veterinary inspection of DR EQ immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Having regard to the manner in which DR EQ gave ground and the comments of Jockey Moreira after the race, the Stewards ruled that prior to being permitted to race again, DR EQ will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the 50 Metres, LUCKY VICTOR raced tight inside WINNING WARRIOR which got its head on the side and lay in.
Close to the finishing line, VIVA MAMA raced tight inside LUCKY VICTOR.
A veterinary inspection of AFTER ME and I’M THE CONQUIST immediately following the race found both horses to be lame in the right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, AFTER ME and I’M THE CONQUIST will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of VIVA MAMA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VIVA MAMA, FLYING MONKEY and WINNER’S HEART were sent for sampling.
