Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the track, BOYS PARTY, which sustained a mild abrasion to the right hock whilst being transported to Happy Valley, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Whilst parading behind the barriers, A Badel expressed concern regarding the action of NOBLE MAN. NOBLE MAN was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that in his opinion the horse was lame in its right hind leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, NOBLE MAN was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, NOBLE MAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Just prior to the start being effected, BOYS PARTY (L Currie) became fractious and put its head down to the left, resulting in BOYS PARTY beginning very awkwardly and losing ground. After the race, L Currie stated that it was intended for BOYS PARTY to be ridden in a forward position in tonight’s race, however, due to the manner in which it began, BOYS PARTY was required to be ridden at the rear of the field.
NOBODY KNOWS shifted in at the start and bumped the hindquarters of FOXHUNTER WAY.
From a wide barrier, WONDERFUL TIGER was steadied on jumping and shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, ONE STEP AHEAD raced tight inside NOBODY KNOWS which got its head on the side and lay in away from the heels of MISTER ARM.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, ORIENTAL AMIGO was left racing wide and without cover and was then allowed to improve its position passing the 1100 Metres to race outside the lead.
Passing the 1200 Metres, BOYS PARTY travelled keenly and got its head up when awkwardly placed behind FLASH FAMOUS.
Making the turn after the 600 Metres, FLASH FAMOUS and SURE WIN WIN raced tight as FLASH FAMOUS shifted out from behind NOBODY KNOWS which was giving ground. After this, NOBODY KNOWS continued to give ground and in the Straight finished tailed out. The performance of NOBODY KNOWS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, NOBODY KNOWS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Passing the 500 Metres, BOYS PARTY was steadied away from the heels of GORGEOUS INHERITOR (M L Yeung) which was directed to the outside of NOBODY KNOWS. M L Yeung was told to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
FLASH FAMOUS, GO FOR TEA and MISTER ARM were sent for sampling.
