4 5 NAUTICAL FORCE (L187) From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. After the 500 Metres improved into a tight run between JOY OF SPRING and STUNNING PEACH and as a result made contact with STUNNING PEACH and became unbalanced. K Teetan stated that his mount travelled keenly in the early stages when it settled back in the field as expected. He said with the race being run at a slow pace throughout the early and middle stages NAUTICAL FORCE found it difficult to make up ground back in the field. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NAUTICAL FORCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Sent for sampling post-race.
5 1 STUNNING PEACH (J301) Bumped on jumping. After the 500 Metres was bumped by NAUTICAL FORCE and taken wider when NAUTICAL FORCE shifted out to improve.
6 6 FORTUNE BOY (K098) On the Home Turn was briefly held up for clear running behind STUNNING PEACH. H Bentley reported that his mount appeared to race "flat” today and did not appreciate the "Yielding” track conditions. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
7 4 JOY OF SPRING (H383) E C W Wong stated that his mount races best when able to obtain cover and did not run out the 2400 Metres of today’s race. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
