Racing Incident Report

Pla. Horse No. Horse Incident
5 GOLD PATCH (L099) Sent for sampling post-race.
7 THOUSAND SPIRIT (K365) Trainer M Newnham confirmed that the intention was to lead the event but THOUSAND SPIRIT failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so. Sent for sampling post-race.
3 KA YING ATTACK (J391) Noted to have blood at the left nostril after the race. An endoscopic examination conducted on KA YING ATTACK found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.
11 VULCANUS (J150) Near the 100 Metres was hampered when it shifted out and away from THOUSAND SPIRIT which shifted out.
9 SUNNY DA BEST (J118) Jumped only fairly. Briefly crowded near the 800 Metres.
2 SUPER EXPRESS (K245) When questioned B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to go forward but attempt to find cover if possible. He said from the outside barrier after commencing well he was obliged to continue forward to cross ANODE and KA YING ATTACK to avoid racing wide when there was no opportunity to obtain cover. He said after positioning to the outside of GOLD PATCH near the 900 Metres SUPER EXPRESS, which was racing in blinkers for the first time, commenced to race keenly which resulted in the horse being positioned approximately half a length in front of GOLD PATCH. He said although he was aware he was running inside of standard time he was unable to set a more sustainable pace due to the racing manners of the horse. He added in the Home Straight when under pressure SUPER EXPRESS hung in and proved difficult to ride out. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Sent for sampling post-race.
1 SOUTH STAR (K153) Held up making the Home Turn. Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race. As this was the second occasion that SOUTH STAR had bled, the horse is ineligible to run in any race conducted by the Club in the future.
10 ROBOT LUCKY STAR (K485) Near the 800 Metres was momentarily crowded between VULCANUS and ANODE which shifted in. A Atzeni stated that his mount, which was racing first up today, would derive a fitness benefit from today’s performance. A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
4 CHICKEN DINNER (L095) Jumped awkwardly. From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
6 MAGNEMITE (K549) Jumped only fairly. Near the 800 Metres raced tight to the inside of SUNNY DA BEST.
8 ANODE (K367) Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
12 CORNERSTONE (K519) Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
